Charles W. Elliott, Esquire has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1978 and has managed the affairs of his own firm since 1993.

His practice of law has concentrated in public interest litigation on behalf of environmental organizations, governmental clients, and victims of environmental pollution. He has represented clients in environmental litigation in matters involving air and water pollution, hazardous waste disposal and management, petroleum tank releases, groundwater contamination, and natural resources protection. His cases have ranged from nuclear power plant licensing proceedings before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the federal courts, federal rulemaking proceedings, to citizen and governmental opposition to the siting of solid waste facilities, to representing victims of area-wide toxic lead contamination.

United States Government officials have praised his effectiveness in environmental litigation. In 1993, Mr. Elliott received an award from the United States Department of Justice, United States Attorney, for his "outstanding skill and dedication" in environmental enforcement work in citizen suit litigation under the Clean Water Act.

He received the R. Emmett Doherty Clean Air Award from the American Lung Association of the Lehigh Valley for his work to prevent air pollution.  Most recently, he was given the Appalachian Mountain Club's Conservation Award for “outstanding contributions towards protection of the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania”.

In his advocacy for human rights, he is currently assisting list counsel in the representation of victims of the Darfur, Sudan conflict in their participation before the International Criminal Court, advocating expansive interpretations of the Rome Statute provisions for victim participation in proceedings before the ICC.
